Full screen movies cuts off the edges verticaly

hi. i dont know if anybody has already posted this somewhere. but here goes.

when i connect my psp to an older av philips tv with 3 component cable (made in china) and when i watch a movie and then i sellect the fullscreen option via my psp/tv but then the both edges left and right are abit cut verticaly of the movie. so now i can only watch the middle part.

any ideas ?
